According to a forecast from the National Meteorological Center on June 22, the seventh typhoon of this year, Mekkhala, has intensified into a super typhoon, with maximum wind force reaching level 16. Mekkhala is expected to move west-northwest at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour, with its intensity gradually increasing. According to Xin Xin, chief meteorological analyst at China Weather, Mekkhala will reach its peak intensity on June 23, after which it will weaken and is highly likely to turn north toward Japan.
